Marshall Memorial Fellows selected
Congratulations to Amir Farokhi and Jeremy Cole, who have been named as the Atlanta region's 2011 Marshall Memorial Fellows. Farokhi is director of Georgia Forward and was previously an associate with McKenna, Long & Aldridge. Cole is a major gifts officer with the U.S. Fund for UNICEF and is pursuing a PhD in educational policy studies. Both have demonstrated a strong commitment to their communities and the causes that are important to them. As Marshall Fellows, they will each spend three to four weeks learning about civic life in several European cities, meeting with government officials, business and nonprofit leaders and media figures.

Now in its 29th year, the Marshall Memorial Fellowship is an international program that allows emerging leaders in Europe and the U.S. to broaden their perspectives on civic life within the context of other cultures. The Civic League coordinates the selection process for the Atlanta region and past fellows from our region have gone on to become mayors, county commissioners, statewide elected officials, leaders in the nonprofit and corporate world.
