  • Neighborhood Forums Return With New Series on Public Health and Health Care

What can we do over the next 50 years to make ours a healthy region? That’s the question The Civic League will be asking in its new series of Neighborhood Forums on health care, beginning Thursday, Sept. 24 in downtown Decatur, with a second forum scheduled for Thursday, Oct. 8 in Clayton County.

Of course, the topic could not be timelier, but unlike the ongoing town hall meetings across the U.S., we’re not talking national health care reform. Instead, we’re thinking specifically about the Atlanta region and what steps we can take to improve the overall health of the people who live here. Bring your ideas (and a friend!), and join us for this thought-provoking conversation designed to give citizens a voice in creating a better region.

The Civic League’s Neighborhood Forums are part of the Atlanta Regional Commission’s Fifty Forward visioning project.  They represent a unique opportunity for ordinary citizens to weigh in on the policies that will shape the Atlanta region over the next 50 years.

Special thanks to Kaiser-Permanente for its sponsorship of this event.
