| Call for Nominations: Founders' Awards and Regional Excellence Awards |
|
The Civic League’s annual What’s Right With the Region dinner is still a few months out (though it wouldn’t hurt to go ahead and put it on your calendar: February 25, 2010), but NOW is the time to submit your nominations for the 2010 Founders’ and Regional Excellence awards, which will be presented that night.
The Civic League Founders’ Award recognizes an individual who has made a significant contribution of vision, leadership and action for positive change in the Atlanta region over a period of years. The award is named in honor of three leaders whose vision inspired the concept of a regional civic league for metro Atlanta: George Busbee, former Governor of Georgia; Manuel Maloof, former CEO of DeKalb County and chair of the Atlanta Regional Commission (ARC); and Harry West, former director of the ARC. Regional Excellence Awards recognize individuals, organizations and initiatives that demonstrate extraordinary commitment to creating a better Atlanta region. These awards represent the shared vision of The Civic League’s three legacy organizations: the Metro Group, the Regional Leadership Forum and Research Atlanta. The Atlanta region has its share of complex problems, but it also has a lot of innovative, committed problem-solvers. Help us recognize them at this important event. The deadline for all nominations is Friday, Nov. 20. For additional details and an online nomination form, please click here.
