Ellen Dozier Mayer As The Civic League's interim managing director, Ellen is responsible for programming, fundraising, communications and organizational strategy. Previously, she was an independent consultant to The Civic League and other nonprofits, and prior to that was vice president of the public policy consulting firm Civic Strategies, Inc. Ellen holds a masters degree in urban studies from the Andrew Young School of Policy Studies at Georgia State University and an undergraduate degree in public relations-journalism from Auburn University. Ellen has lived in the Atlanta region for almost 20 years; she and her family currently reside in Midtown Atlanta and Coweta County.
Tamara Pursley Tamara Pursley serves as operations director of The Civic League for Regional Atlanta. Prior to joining The Civic League, Tamara provided administrative support for the organization for 10 years, as part of her role at Futren Corporation as executive assistant to the chairman. She graduated with a bachelors degree from Florida State University and has lived in the Atlanta region for nearly 20 years. Tamara serves as President of the Down Syndrome Association of Atlanta’s Board of Directors. She lives in Gwinnett County with her husband and three young sons.
